FSA Claims Runout, Carryover and Reimbursement
As of 2022, Fidelity is the new account holder for all FSAs. If you are currently enrolled in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and did not enroll in the 2022 Health Saving Account Health Plan, you are eligible to carry over the maximum available balance on your FSA account.
Claims Runout Period: You may submit claims with a 2021 date of service to Anthem for reimbursement from your remaining 2021 FSA balance until 3/31/22. However, you should not use your Anthem FSA debit card to cover your 2021 claims. Effective January 1, 2022, all remaining claims with a 2021 date of service should be paid out of pocket for reimbursement.
To be reimbursed for 2021 claims, the process is as follow:
- Log into the Anthem Member Portal and submit for reimbursement. Please, see the attachment on how to submit for reimbursement.
- Or you can complete a paper reimbursement form and submit directly to Anthem by clicking on: Anthem Paper Reimbursement Form
Carryover: If you have a remaining balance on your 2021 Flexible Spending Account after 3/31/22, carry over will begin in mid-April and be deposited in your 2022 FSA with Fidelity.
To be reimbursed for 2022 claims, the process is as follow if you did not use your debit card with Fidelity:
- Please, see the attachment on how to submit for reimbursement.
